However, you may find some of them are quite costly. At the store down the road from my home, it costs at least $5 for a basic cat toy. This is a bit steep in my opinion. The pet store may not be the best place to buy cat toys. They are often way overpriced. Of course, this does not necessarily include pet superstores like Petsmart and Petco. These chain stores are quite affordable. The most expensive stores are the privately owned pet shops. Supermarkets and drugstores that sell pet supplies often also have overpriced pet toys. If you're looking for cheap yet safe cat toys, check out discount stores in your area. In my locality, we have Wal-Mart, Target, K-Mart, Family Dollar and Big Lots. Any one of these stores, or stores similar to these, can be a great place to find cheap cat toys.

Shopping online can also lead you to affordably priced cat toys. You can shop at specialty etailers, chain stores or even on Ebay. In addition to tracking down factory made cat toys you can find whimsical handmade toys crafted by cat lovers, for cat lovers. Many of these toys contain organic catnip which is very appealing to cats. You can even sew your own cat toys if you have the right materials. Simply stuffing some burlap with dried catnip and sewing it up make a great plaything for your feline.

Discount cat toys can be just as good as the expensive ones. However it is important to carefully inspect the toys you choose for your feline to make sure they are well constructed and safe. You don't want tiny pieces that may come off and choke your cat. With a little comparison shopping, you can discover the perfect cat toys for your beloved feline at a price you can afford. Cats don't care if you spent one dollar or ten dollars on their toys. Cats are most interested in toys that move, make noise, or contain catnip. These elements make great cat toys for happy cats!
