Urinary dysfunction is one of these conditions. Cats between the ages of 2 and 6 may suffer from urinary disease. This problem is most prevalent in males but can also affect female cats as well. It is important to take your cat to the vet right away to treat this problem because if left untreated it can lead to kidney failure. You will find food on store shelves designed to maintain good urinary health. This food can be used as a preventative measure but should not be used as a treatment.

Anemia is a problem that may arise if your cat has a problem with fleas. Fleas drink your cat's blood and an infestation can cause severe anemia which may even lead to death. Therefore, it is very important to treat fleas properly. A product like Frontline which is applied to the neck each month kills fleas, ticks and larvae. Your best bet is to get this product from your vet. There are comparable products in stores but in my own experience nothing is more effective than the flea control products sold at the veterinarian's office.
